Real Wedding - Ben and Mary Beth
Ben and Mary Beth were married August 6, 2016 at Thomas George Estates in Healdsburg, California.
Their wedding was personal for my team and me since we know and love Mary Beth and Ben. I met them about 5 years ago when we both had puppies the same age – Leo and Enzo became fast friends that day in the dog park, as did MB and I. As we got to know each other better I realized I had found a kindred spirit in Mary Beth, she is very creative and loves flowers, gardening, dogs, wine, good food, entertaining, learning and teaching.
Mary Beth is a talented high school teacher and Ben is an engineer at a Silicon Valley start up designing drones. They are a fun loving, hardworking pair. MB quickly became one of my very closest friends and even starting working with my team during her summer breaks.
When they became engaged, we immediately started talking about the wedding and we knew we wanted to incorporate some of their shared favorite things: good wine, dogs and the color orange.
MB and Ben found the perfect venue to celebrate their wedding when they visited Thomas George estates in Healdsburg. It has beautiful scenery and great wine! Mary Beth is very crafty so she starting making and collecting some fun elements to incorporate into their big day. She made the escort tags that we attached to bottles of flowers and arranged them on one of our vintage tables during cocktail hour. The guests took them to their tables and they completed the table centerpieces in a charming way.
Both Mary Beth and Ben were completely comfortable giving me free reign of the floral design once we established the color palette of warm spicy colors to go along with their favorite shade of orange, we included coral, peach a pops of bright pink. Their flowers included happy summer blooms – dahlias, zinnias, roses and even some hops vine.
We designed a gorgeous arch for the ceremony and a hanging centerpiece over their sweetheart table. The flowers were inspired by Ben and Mary Beth’s happy, positive personalities and their love and commitment for one another.
The best part of the day? I was able to attend the wedding as a guest while my very capable, hardworking team did the installation.
